Strawberry Chia Jam

Easy Strawberry Chia Jam


  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, washed, hulled and sliced.
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds


  • Add strawberries to a large pot over medium heat and add honey. Stir.
  • Stir them frequently as they begin to soften.
  • When the strawberries begin to break down and fall apart mash them with a potato masher or fork to break them up.
  • Bring the mixture to a slow boil stirring constantly. When you see big bubbles break the surface add the chia seeds and stir.
  • The mixture might appear liquid but as the chia seeds set they will give it a gelatinous texture and thicken up the jam. Continue stirring over low heat for another 15 minutes then remove from stove.
  • The jam is now ready for to store in the fridge for a few weeks or for canning. Please follow proper canning procedures to reduce bacteria and allow your jam to seal tightly for food safety.
